About Oprios
Our mission is to give ambitious, capable and willing industrial manufacturers access to the kind of production and defence sector expertise that most companies spend years and significant resources trying to build on their own.
Oprios was founded by Ioannis Broutzos, an engineer who built his reputation by doing the actual work. His career is split into two foundational tracks, each one contributing to Oprios’s unique blend of production floor technical depth and effective commercial strategy.
For seventeen years, Ioannis served as a Project Manager and Industrial Product Designer at MEVACO S.A., one of Greece’s premier metal manufacturing companies.
He personally guided complex metallurgical projects from initial concept to mass production, overseeing prototyping, executing quality control, scouting new suppliers and partners, handling international business relationships, and coordinating directly with production lines to make sure products were delivered according to the contractual obligations.
Apart from this hands-on, technically demanding work, and in addition to his other responsibilities, Ioannis was assigned the management of human resources for 2.5 years.
This multifaceted experience built the kind of knowledge that cannot be found in a management textbook.
Ioannis has also served as a Member of the Board of Directors at MEVACO S.A. for 3.5 years, actively participating in all major strategic and financial decisions of the company.
This happened in parallel with his appointment of the Sales and Marketing Director position, where he headed the company’s penetration into the international defence sector. He successfully broke through dense regulatory and compliance frameworks, and worked alongside his colleagues, to make MEVACO the first Greek manufacturer admitted into Naval Group’s global supply chain.
This breakthrough helped in securing subsequent contracts with other big defence players, like MBDA and Thales Group. Before transitioning to his freelance role, Ioannis made sure to leave MEVACO a healthy RFQ pipeline for future defence projects of the biggest international OEMs.
Over his career, Ioannis has worked alongside tier-1 global defence contractors and regularly represented the Greek manufacturing capabilities at global industry forums.
In 2026, his expertise in B2B strategy and international business development was recognized through his appointment as a jury member for the Sales Excellence Awards.
